This comic strip is unfortunately based on real-world scenarios I’ve experienced first-hand and through others.

Here in my neighborhood, there have been a handful of "Black-Owned” spaces that talk a good game. They’ll state that they’re here for our people, our community. They want to uplift our voices, create a safe space for the kinfolk to thrive. Saying every affirmation, platitude, and buzzword to get you HYPE. Turns out, it’s all bullshit. You never see the owners in the community, the patrons of these spaces are usually Black transplants who are just as afraid of being here as their white counterparts, they all get together to shit on the neighborhood while stealing resources. Never once doing any mutual aid or community work. All a guise for their own elitist nonsense that essentially mimics white supremacy.

Thankfully, the one location I was beefing with got shut down. Good riddance.

Remember, all skinfolk ain’t kinfolk.
