A Refresh & Renewal

Notice anything different? No?! Well, open up your eyes because Habtoons has undergone a slight visual update. I’ve been sitting on it a long time and finally got around to refreshing the aesthetic of the brand, just a bit….just a bit. Over the course of the next few months, there will be some more little changes here and there that I’m sure you’ll appreciate; across the site and my social platforms. I mean, look, we have a dedicated comics section now. That’s definitely work something!

Now, onto an important question you’ve all been asking (inside your head): “Where is EPIC Ethel and the rest of To Do or Die in Bedstuy"?!” - the short answer: hiatus. The long answer is that I overbooked myself. I honestly thought I could create a fresh comic every week in addition to other projects and the newly founded Twitch page. A very ambitious concept but extremely foolish. It got to the point where I was feeling incredibly burnout with the schedule that I created. When is TDODIB going to finish? The honest answer is, I’m not sure. The last few pages haven’t even been drafted yet. Don’t fret though because this time around I’ll make sure to have everything done and prepped beforehand for smoother scheduled releases.

This also means, going forward, there will be longer release windows. I had to really sit with myself and come to the conclusion I’m not in HS anymore and don’t have the same amount of free time I once did to keep up with a weekly, “make it as you go” type of comic. I do apologize to those who have been looking forward to the latest adventures of Ethel and her wildass crew. All I ask is for your continued patience as I re-navigate how I’d like to approach creating all my comics going forward.

A few more things to “announce” before I wrap up: I’ll be opening up for commissions in February, a lot of people have been asking. I’m currently working on new rates and categories of art you can request. Soon come. For those on the Twitch and Discord side of things, I’ll be updating the emotes once again —- be on the look out for those in the coming weeks. Patreon has also gotten a bit of a revision as well, gearing up for a soft re-launch in February. We gotta get the bag, man!
