New Year, Same Hustle

Congratulations, you’ve made it to 2021, traveler! I hope y’all had a fantastic holiday season despite the woes of the world. Not gonna lie, I was feeling a bit “meh” about it all until maybe the week of Christmas. Though, I’m extremely grateful I got to spend it with some loved ones both virtually and in-person.
Now, onto some Habtoons business: Did you know, technically, Habtoons is more than a decade old? It’s almost as if time flew by! I just had a conversation with a colleague about consistency. Had I been extremely consistent with my work and content, Habtoons would most likely be a lot further along than it is now. However, it’s fine because I’ve learned a multitude of lessons along the way that will make the next decade even more delicious. I bring this up to say, I think it’s time for a light refresh….
Henceforth, we are in a new era and it’s being called “A Rediscovery, Between”. I feel that we’re in a constant state of learning, always gaining new skills and perspectives. So, this era will be about rediscovering oneself. The old becoming new. The rebirth of who we are, who we’re meant to be. With that comes, new stories. I’ve always wanted to tell stories outside of the traditional graphic novel/comic format and this is where it will begin. Or rather, it’s already begun with the latest illustrations “Ruuxa R”, “Maspeth”, and “Mysterious Mistress”, will have been updated in the Portfolio section.
That being said, I’ll be wrapping up EPIC Ethel: To Do or Die in Bedstuy by the end of this month. It’ll then be prepped for a “deluxe” edition e-book with new art and commentary. That’s gonna be lit! Going forward, Ethel will update with regular comic strips, with chapters being updated (let’s say for now) quarterly. Of course, there’s going to be more happening but we keeping that on the hush-hush for now.

+ Twitch Streaming returns today, I’m starting a new game to playthrough. The tried and true, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. This will be keeping us busy quite a long time! For updates on the new schedule, be sure to join up with the Habtoons Discord.
+ Facebook & Instagram are being integrated back into regular usage. I know I’ve been ghosting them for a while but don’t worry. Starting today, we back!
+ Youtube is in full gear, with it’s own schedule and content. If you haven’t subscribed yet, you’re missing out!
